Hi, I’m Catherine (she/her)
I'm so glad you're here!
I set up Transform Virtual Assistance because I genuinely love this work. I love working with people, I love solving problems and I especially love doing both at the same time. I’m based in the beautiful city of Norwich and when I’m not supporting clients you’ll find me walking my dog, building Lego, board gaming, travelling in my campervan, reading, sewing or playing flute and piano.
What makes me different
My business is based on the firm belief that everyone deserves to be supported in a way that actually works for them. That includes people who are neurodivergent, people who are living with a disability or chronic health condition, and people who are managing their mental health — whether or not they have a diagnosis, whether or not they've told anyone, and whether or not they fully understand it themselves yet.
You don't need to explain yourself here. You don't need to justify your needs or apologise for them. If something would help you — whether that's a different way of communicating, more time, a clearer set of instructions, or just a little more patience — just say so. No awkwardness, no judgement, no assumptions. I work with you to understand your preferences, your priorities and your vision for your business.
Why I care about this
I didn't arrive here by accident. I know what it is like to be overwhelmed, pulled in all directions and feeling the physical and emotional strain of trying to be all things to all people in your professional and personal life. I understand the desire to regain control over your values, purpose and life-work balance.
Before starting my career as a VA, I spent 24 years working in education including time as a SENCO and as Headteacher. In these roles, I developed a wide range of skills needed to run an organisation: stakeholder engagement, communication, organisation and prioritisation, financial management, marketing, policies and procedures, data protection, risk management and much more. I have supported young people and parents with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and other disabilities or mental health challenges. I understand, above all else, the importance of kindness and empathy; of staying calm in a crisis and of looking after the wellbeing of yourself and others.
Since leaving my role in education, I have provided practice administration and accounts support for our family accountancy business, specifically developing systems to support areas of the business impacted by executive functioning: planning, prioritising, workflows and task initiation and monitoring deadlines.
My years of working with people — in education, in business, and in life — have taught me that the people who are told they need "extra support" can often be the same people who bring the most creativity, the most energy and the sharpest thinking to a team. The world isn't always set up to make that easy. I'd like to help change that, one person at a time.
Let's work together
Whether you need help with something specific or you're not quite sure what you need yet — that's completely fine. I'm here for both.
Say ‘Hello’. Let's see what we can do!
